A quote that I found important in the three Acts we have read so far is "If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well It were done quickly: if the assassination Could trammel up the consequence, and catch With his surcease success;" This is a quote from Act 1 and it is Macbeth's sililoque about whether or not he should kill Duncan. He is saying to himself that if he were to kill Duncan it would have to be quick because if he gets caught doing it, it would be okay for the next to be king to kill him. It matters to this play because in this play he ends up killing Duncan that leads to many other deaths.
When he kills Duncan it leads to more deaths like the death of his best friend, Banquo. A quote I found important in the killing of Banquo is " O treachery! Fly, good Florence. fly, fly, fly! Thou mayst revenge- O slave!" This was what Banquo said before he died to his son Florence. This shows that Florence is still alive and the profecy that the witches gave him about his son being kings still can come true.
Great job of really explaining these quotes throughly and in different ways!
ReplyDeleteGood interpretation of the quote! I know Macbeth is constantly confused and it all started when he was deciding whether or not to kill Duncan.
